The role
About the opportunity
For PhD students and postdoctoral researchers working on open-ended machine-learning problems that can move from research toward production.
What Jump looks for
- Strong publications at venues such as ICML, ICLR, AAAI, NeurIPS, UAI, or KDD, and/or meaningful open-source AI research contributions.
- Strong machine-learning background, including modern deep learning and/or language-model architectures such as transformers and state-space models.
- Strong Python and/or C++.
- PyTorch, TensorFlow, and/or JAX.
- Strong quantitative reasoning, collaboration, and communication with trading researchers.
- Intellectual curiosity, originality, practical judgement, and reliable availability.
Useful experience: high-performance computing, distributed large-model training, CUDA or ROCm optimisation, end-to-end model development, and ML research/tooling/infrastructure best practices.
