About Us

Bridging the gap between students and quantitative finance careers.

Amsterdam Quant Society is a student-led organization founded in October 2025 by six Econometrics students at the University of Amsterdam.

Amsterdam has quickly become one of Europe's leading hubs for quantitative finance, home to firms like Optiver, IMC, and Flow Traders. Yet despite this thriving industry right on their doorstep, students often graduate without the practical skills, industry knowledge, or professional network needed to break in.

That's why we started AQS. We believe students deserve a platform that prepares them for the realities of a quant career, not just the theory. Through events with industry professionals, hands-on workshops, and our monthly newspaper, we help students build the skills and connections that set them apart.

Our mission is simple: bridge the gap between the classroom and the trading floor.
